The Two Towers

The Two Towers is a story about ways taken by members of The Fellowship of the Ring after its brake-off.

Three of them goes in search for their friends captured by the orcs. The captured manage to escape to the forest called Fangorn, inhabited by ents.

Their comrades very unexpectedly meet a mysterious White Wizard, and then they go to Rohan's king, Theoden. The kingdom is close to fall, because of bad councellor, called Worm Tongue.

With the king and Riddermarch warriors, the heroes go to war against the power of Isengard, and take place in defence of Helmet's Deep, against the orcs from Isengard, outnumbering them several times.

In the meantime, the Ring Bearer is on his way to Mordor. He gains an unexpected guide - Sméagol - Gollum, after negotiating him to become an ally - but is he for sure?

The world becames seized by darkness from Mordor, and under this darkness Sauron unleashes his first troops... The War for a Ring begins.

Readers' comments

For the first time I read Two Towers after watching The Fellowship of the Ring movie, when I couldn't wait to see how certain issues will be solved. And the book didn't disappoint me, in the contrary, the solutions for some problems I found amazing! What really happened to Gandalf, how the Helmet's Deep fought for survival, how Ents answered to actions of Saruman, and how Gollum found his role in Frodo's mission - all these things were wonderful surprises for me.
