The Light Fantastic

Maybe jumping over the edge of the Disc could be dangerous, but not for Rincewind nor Twoflower, and absolutely not for the Luggage. The Disc and wizards from Unseen University have more serious problem, and try to solve it with catching Rincewind, what obviously cannot succeed.

The failed wizard will deal with their problem himself ultimately, but before it will happen, he has to deal with computer hardware consultants, trolls and one swordswoman.

As for Twoflower, as we could expect from a true eccentric, he will have an opportunity to teach Death how to play Bridge, though it won't solve the problem of human mortality anyway, and take amazing pictures from supposed end of the Disc, which of course turned out to be something different that it seemed.

And we can learn what's the difference between an eccentric and a madman. As for madmen, by the way, there will be a lot of them in this novel, even as for Discworld's standards.

Readers' comments

The beginning of 'The Light Fantastic' was a great relief for me, after the ending of 'The Colour of Magic' I was afraid about our heroes. The story is even more funny than the previous one and I've found a lot of pleasure reading it. Without any doubt a must-read for everyone who read 'The Colour of Magic'.

The Light Fantastic is the second Pratchett's book in the series. Full of humour and sarcasm. A parody of the world. It really deserves to get 5.
